How much money should I save for my vacation?
Melissa T asked:
I am planning a week long vacation to Toronto, Ontario Canada with my husband and our son. We will be staying in a hotel. We want to see the sights, eat out, etc. It will just be a family time out. We are coming from NJ. We are considering moving to Canada, so this is a chance to see what we would be in for. How much money should I save?

Toronto is a fairly expensive city, but no more than most larger areas. The two currencies are about equal so figure out what it might cost you in a city near you. Toronto has quite a few on-line tourist sites, some with coupons. Some of the things you can’t miss … CN Tower, Rogers Centre next door where you might be able to see a Jays game under the dome. Lots of underground shopping in the downtown area. Depending where you are staying, use the subway instead of driving and parking. The subways are quite clean. The Hockey Hall of Fame is downtown and if you are a Devils fan (or not) it’s a must-see. Parking rates are atrocious. If you are driving fill up before entering Canada … gas prices are higher than in the US. Whatever, have a great time, eh!!

$2000 total including air fare, rental car and hotel, just remind everything in Canada is more expensive than US.
